TACPAC Sensory Library Workshop
Rockingham, Western Australia
The first ever TACPAC Sensory workshop for parents, carers and support workers was held on 06/11/2024 at the Safety Bay Public library in the city of Rockingham in WA from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
This was a free event for all participants. There were 12 participants and 4 individuals with severe sensory impairments. Participants ranged from ages 35 years to 80 years
It was a very hands on and interactive session with lots of involvement in TACPAC with actual individuals and there was instant observation of how well it works when performed correctly. Using body patterning and following the exact beat of the music.
Participants were glad to know that TACPAC Sensory is NDIS registered now.
There were lots of questions and requests for more workshops like this.
Positive feedback was received after the workshop from all participants. Comments like there was increased awareness of what sensory communication is. There was strong recognition that what was learnt at the workshop would be used by the participants at home on someone. When asked if they would recommend the training to someone else, the general consensus was most likely.
Free Access to Sets 1 & 2
Participants were advised they would get 3 weeks of free access to sets 1 and 2 after the workshop to put in practise what they have learnt at the workshop.
It is advisable that participants attend the full and proper training to be able to use TACPAC efficiently and effectively with their individuals.
